October, November and December 2020

Well, I'm sure none of us are where we expected to be at the end of 2020. What a unique year in history. And we were all a part of it. Strange. It's looking like 2021 is going to start off rough, but we just have to stay strong, be kind, wear our masks, social distance, and stay home as much as possible to get through this. Because this time next year could look very different if we do!

October: This month saw Jeremiah getting his license, me visiting my cousin in San Diego (while numbers were low and still utilizing all possible measures to remain safe), Alayna focusing on school and her art, and all of us (well, those of us with jobs) working quite a bit.

November: We had a small Thanksgiving at our house, just the four of us. Lots of warm days this month meant lots of evening beach walks and time outside. Just in time, too, before the surges in covid starting happening around the state, and we opted to shelter in place (except work and necessary outings).

December: More work, very little play. Enjoyed our time together at home, playing games and enjoying our Christmas decorations. We did a lot of baking and I tried a bunch of new recipes. We also celebrated Alayna's 16th birthday, which got a post all its own. I cannot believe she is 16! Totally beside ourselves over here with how quickly time is passing. Christmas was once again just the four of us at home. And, we were ALL ready for a quiet NYE at home, with fondue and sparkling wine or juice to bid this strange year farewell.

Here's to 2021!

My trip to San Diego

Hadn't been to this zoo since I was maybe 14. It was at less than 1/2 capacity and I thoroughly enjoyed it, even with several of the exhibits closed or animals sleeping/not out.

We decorated early this year. 2 weeks before Thanksgiving. Because 2020.
