Father's Day
I never did post anything from Father's Day. It was a low key day. Peter had to work, as usual, from 2pm-10pm. We did church, lunch, and homemade "gifts"! It was just important to get the point across how much we appreciate our man! Peter is such an incredible father. He takes the role very seriously--with his superfun, laid back attitude! No Dad can compare to his awesomeness. He goes above and beyond his call of duty. He is often both Mom and Dad, because I get sick so much. The kids take so much delight in him; he is their favorite. And that doesn't bother me at all--he's mine too! :)

We Have A Swimmer!
Yesterday, we spent the day with our friends, the Hoellwarths, down in Maricopa. It was a fun, albeit loud, day. Swimming and BBQing and Wii time. But, it was yesterday that Jeremiah finally let go of his fear and swam independently! He's known how to swim for awhile now, but was afraid to let go of his life preserver, so to speak. (Arm floaties, more accurately.) I am not a huge advocate of paying someone to teach my child to swim. I already know how to swim, my husband already knows how to swim. We figured we could teach our children how to swim. And its working. And I have proof! Yesterday Jeremiah swam the length of the Hoellwarth's pool and back! It was awesome!
Alayna is already well on her way. My guess is she will be independent by the end of this summer; you know, in October...

Haircuts and Toenails
Summer is here! And the kids are ecstatic. I, on the other hand, am SO ready for November and the cool weather. Even after 4 years, I am not used to the scorching heat. In fact, I find that I have an even bigger aversion to it! I'm not really a fun person to be around if its above 90 degrees outside. (Well, as long as I am inside I am ok!) I don't like leaving the house--even to walk the 50 steps to get the mail. Peter and the kids don't seem to mind it at all. But, I'm dealing with it and trying to make the best of the summer. We're keeping busy and having fun!
Recently, Peter gave Jeremiah his annual "summer haircut"--which is really just a buzz cut. Its easier to deal with in this heat. And, it makes Jeremiah look younger...I think I can see my mischievious 2-year-old with his grin! He's gonna be a heartbreaker:
Before
After
This week, J has been at the sports camp our church holds every summer. I wish we could afford to send him more than one week--he has such a great time. (And we get alone time with Alayna.) Today, Alayna and I enjoyed some more girl time, which, once again, included painting toenails! She wanted "red" this time (its more like magenta). She loves this--we've done it once a month since the first time back in March. I love having a daughter. When I was younger, I used to say I wanted all boys because girls are too much work. But, its been such a joy to have her! (I may change my tune once she gets to junior high...)
Toes!
