Ezra's Eternity Day, Year 7

It's been 7 years since Ezra was called home. You can read more ponderings about that HERE. Otherwise, we celebrated by doing a small hike along the Avila Beach bluffs and an ash scatter at Pirate's Cove/Cave Landing. It was a simple and sweet celebration.

Summer 2015: Week 9

Last official week of summer for me (and I spent two days at school). We continued checking things off the bucket list this week, but also had to get ourselves organized. I go back to school TOMORROW and the kids go back on Thursday. I can't believe the summer has already come to an end! Waaaah!

Eight

Our youngest son, Ezra, would be turning 8 years old today. Every year that passes doesn't make it any easier to celebrate without him. We don't do the balloon release anymore, since it's horrible for the environment. I still bake something and we sing Happy Birthday. But, it's hard. It's painful. Because he's not actually turning eight years old. He will forever be 1 year and 11 days old. I'm not sure what form his body took in Heaven, but part of me hopes he's still a baby. But, perfect in Christ.

This year, I had school and Peter had to work. So, we celebrated after dinner with homemade cupcakes and ice cream. Simple and sweet.

Happy Birthday, Ezra James! We love you.
