16 Going on 17

That's right, folks.

JEREMIAH IS 16!

He's not undergoing any of the typical "rites of passage" of this age (such as getting a license) because he still has some maturing to do. But, the number stands. He is 16. And, 17 isn't too far away already.

On the big day, Peter took Jeremiah and a few friends to do a local "escape room". I had to work, so I was not able to join them, but they had a great time. Before that (and before I left for work), we had cake (baked by Alayna) and ice cream. Despite not having a license, Jeremiah did get a new set of wheels for his birthday -- a skateboard! He was thrilled. And, now that he's going to school about a mile from home, he can get himself to and from school.

It's hard to believe that in just two years, Jeremiah will be a legal adult. He has some growing up to do, but he has a big heart and is eager to please, so he is working to be his best him.

Happy Sweet 16, Jeremiah!

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

It's March, so, obviously, it's time to post about Christmas.

Needless to say, we've been busy. Both Peter and I working a lot. My hospital is out-of-control (literally) with census and acuity. Every bed has been filled for almost 3 months. Tying that with school and family leaves little time to update this here blog. But, I am making attempts. Kids have a lot of activities and school events. I'm full force in a BSN program. Life seems to never slow down.

December consisted of another trip to Disneyland, Star Wars, Alayna's school play, Christmas in Antioch (I worked) and a brief trip to LA for tamales on Christmas Eve (just me since everyone else was in Antioch). We didn't send out Christmas cards, but we did send out a New Year's greeting. Enjoy these photos from our Christmas season. And, Happy New Year! 2018 has been.... interesting....so far.
