Disneyland 2017 -- Mama Turns 40!

I rang in the big 4-0 at my favorite place with my favorite people. We spent two days and two nights at the "happiest place on earth" and we had a marvelous time! I cannot think of a better way to start off the next decade! Happy Birthday to MEEEEE!

We left right after Peter got home from working a night shift.... I drove.

We're heeeeeeere!

First ride--Space Mountain!

 Mom doesn't like the Teacups
And, I promise, J was having fun!

My favorites! The Dapper Dans!

On to CA Adventure!

Am I the only one in this car happy to be here?!?!

Cheers!

Back to DL at twilight.

The BEST parade ever!

Too Cool For Elementary School

In June, our baby girl "promoted" from 6th grade to middle school. We can hardly even believe it. She received several awards, including the President's Honor Roll, which means she maintained a 3.75 or greater GPA for 4 years in a row. Jeremiah had received that too, in the 6th grade. It's pretty special. She also received a couple other scholar awards and a citizenship award. I think we've done good by her. My parents came up to celebrate with us and we had a fun night.

We're so proud of you, Alayna! You're becoming an amazing young woman! We love you!

And, now, she's off to middle school in 4 weeks!

May Times

I guess I've turned into an every other month blogger. No biggie. With social media, I've gotten super lazy about family updates, because it's so easy to do on there. And then, the news gets spread by word of mouth to those folks who don't participate in social media. Everyone's covered. But, in an effort for my own, "private" documentation of our family happenings, I will continue with this blog so I can keep it for the kids (I eventually plan to print it out, year by year). I don't scrapbook (I haven't had photos developed in SIX years, besides a few random ones we hung up in the house), so this is as good as it gets.

May was awhile ago. I can't even remember much about it. I know we had a celebration for my grandmother. I know we were doing a lot of work on the house. I know Peter and I went to see U2. And, I know Chris Cornell died, which crushed me. I'm still not quite over that. Here's a photo dump of the month. Enjoy!

(And, I'm so lazy that most of these photos are unedited....)

Science Camp for Alayna.
Bittersweet, since the campsite burned to the ground in last week's fire. :(

That's a wrap! On to June!
