SUNDAY-- Spent the morning at church. I was sickly, so Peter and Grandma and kids spent the afternoon together out and about in Portland, but didn't take the camera (so, no photos). I was assured that they had fun.
MONDAY--Grandma and Jeremiah left. Peter slept/worked (he was working 2 back-to-back graveyard shifts). I was sick. It was drizzly. It was a relatively "boring" day of board games, video games, playing dolls, "school", and "restaurant, and culminated with a movie and popcorn. (No photos.)
TUESDAY-- Had a lazy morning (Alayna and I slept in until 9:30 and didn't get dressed until 11am). Ran errands in the afternoon. Had homemade mac n' cheese for dinner and then Peter took Alayna to the park for some Daddy/Daughter time. (No photos.)
WEDNESDAY-- Feeling quite a bit better. We went to OMSI with our little friend Leo and his Mama Rachel. Followed by ice skating in the afternoon. (Finally--photos!)
THURSDAY-- Slept in until almost 10am. Lazed around. Then, I spent the afternoon with nursing friends while Peter and Alayna went to a couple neighborhood parks on the west side. That night, her friend Eva came to sleep over! First one at our house--she was excited. We went to the park, played games, and watched a movie. They were up until 11:30pm. And woke up at 7:15 the next day....
Just a few of my amazing nursing cohort!
Picnic dinner on the porch.
Swings
Just a few of these babies left in the city, and one is 2 blocks from our house!
Seesaw
Reading aloud to each other before bed--11pm!
FRIDAY-- Pancake breakfast with the girls. Then, more park time. Eva went home at 2pm and Peter cleaned out the car to get ready for our trip. We rode bikes to the library and ran a few more errands. Early bedtime for an EARLY wake-up on Saturday.
Just discovered these in Mt. Tabor park, thanks to Eva! Jeremiah is going to be ecstatic.
SATURDAY--We left at 11pm Friday night (since neither of us could sleep, it was so hot in our house) for Antioch. I took the first leg of driving. I was peddling along while Peter and Alayna slept and was hitting my 4-hour-mark, just north of Medford, when our tired blew out! It was only about an hour delay, and we made it to Antioch at 10:30am. I took a 3-hour nap and then we visited with the Engles. Crazy day! But, hooray! CA time!
Mt. Shasta just before sunrise
Best thing about through the night drives is being awake for the sunrise.
With the Engles!
