I am very sad to report that little Ez is back in the hospital. He had a rough night last night (lots of crying and restlessness) and then this morning I noticed VERY shallow breathing and lethargy. By the late morning his skin had turned a grayish color and his lips were a purplish-blue. So Peter rushed home from work and took him to the ER, where they immediately admitted him. He is now on a ventilator and is finally stable after a couple of hours of low O2 levels and a fever of 103. After the on-call ped examined him, it was determined that he had mucus blocking the airways, which could have potentially led to pneumonia. We're still waiting on results from an xray done by an ENT (ear-nose-throat doctor) that allows you to examine the structures of the nose and throat. We will keep you updated via blog. In the meantime, please pray for our little man. He needs protection and healing!
This was definitely not the best way to spend his birthday.
