There are really no excuses as to why I am so far behind in posting on here. There are times when I contemplate retiring this blog, but I feel like I owe it to Alayna to at least see it through her high school graduation. So, here's to 2.5 more years of posting every six months. 😆
In January, we went on a day trip to Santa Cruz to drop off Christmas gifts and just get away. We were suppose to have met up with Peter's parents and brother at an outside gift exchange and picnic lunch, but then it rained. Since numbers were high and we were still being extremely cautious, we canceled that, but still decided to do no touch drop offs to Peter's brother's house and to a couple of friends' houses. And we drove around in the rain to some of our favorite spots. We barely left our car, so it was a lot of sitting and a lot of driving, but, it was still worth it. And other miscellaneous fun stuff from January.
(That blood orange French 75 is my faaaaavorite cocktail. It's equal parts gin and fresh squeezed blood orange juice, shaken on ice. I prefer 1.5 shots each. And then, top with a good dry, brut sparkling wine. Good for brunch or, like this meal, breakfast for dinner!)
We were low key in February, but we did celebrate Peter's birthday, enjoy some ventures out of the house once we were both fully vaccinated, and just soaked in this beautiful area we live in. But, the biggest thing is that our guest (kids') bathroom renovation was completed and we looooove it!
March meant getting out more as our county made shifts in its Covid numbers and things started to open up again. That meant wine tasting and spending time with friends, making croissants from scratch! I even got a change to go back to the Disneyland Resort for a food and wine festival at DCA! All very exciting stuff!
Everyone in this photo is fully vaccinated, but Jeremiah still wanted to wear a mask to protect my Grandma and Gramps. 💗
