Summer 2013: WEEK 1

Going to do a weekly re-cap like last year, with "special" posts in-between.  Here's how we spent week one.

Sunday - Church all morning, Dad time in the afternoon/evening.  You saw photos from that day in the Father's Day post.

Monday - Decluttering/cleaning the kids' rooms, grocery shopping, AND berry picking with Luke and Kat (had to throw some fun in).

Tuesday - Bike ride through the neighborhood.  Saw Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (original) at the Academy Theater, which is in our neighborhood.  We own it, but none of us have seen it on the big screen and it was 2-for-Tuesday so all 4 of us saw it for $7.  Plus $3 for popcorn.  Biked to the library and then to Burgerville so the kids could pick up their first reading reward: ice cream cones.  Then, helping the neighbors with the garden in the evening.

Wednesday - We were supposed to go to Seattle, but saw that it would be raining, so we cancelled.  So, we made jam, ran some errands, played outside and rented the first season of Punky Brewster, which we watched 6 episodes of.  Fun, low-key day.  (No photos.)

Thursday - Grandma arrived!  We played games all afternoon, had some outside time, and then spent the evening with our Home Community.  (I already wrote about that HERE.)

Friday - Hiking Horsetail Falls today.  Then, the kids' piano recital (which I already wrote a post HERE), followed by a carnitas dinner at our house.

Saturday - We went to Saturday Market and then to Laurelhurst Park for a picnic lunch and playtime.  Peter worked the whole day. That night, we celebrated 2 birthdays--first, all of us with our neighbor Thor and then, with our friend Craig.  Good times!
