Libby

Alayna caught a ladybug at school today and her teacher went ahead and put it in a baggy so she could bring it home.  She wanted to keep it and I obliged.  (Seriously, right now, these kids could probably get away with murder....with Daddy gone, I am giving into everything--even sweets!)  Alayna determined that it was a girl and gave her the name "Libby".  I actually think its a cute name and fit the little bug quite well.
We put Libby in a glass bowl with some greens (clover leaves and romaine lettuce) and put some wax paper on top, held on with a rubber band.  Then, Alayna decided she wanted to play with Libby, so she took her out and let her crawl on her hands and arms for awhile.  And then, well (of course) Libby flew away.  Alayna was sad, but I told her I would write a blog, that way we can remember Libby, her first pet (for all of 2 hours), forever.
