Well, Mr. Ez is home from the hospital at last. But, his trials are only beginning. He is on home oxygen therapy now. The Pulmonologist believes that there is a connective tissue problem somewhere in his breathing track. There may be some sort of obstruction within his sinuses (he suspects this because Ezra breathes through his mouth a lot, and has a nasally cry and voice). But, this does not mean there isn’t something wrong within his lungs as well. Some more tests have been ordered and a referral to an ENT doctor. (UGH—so tired of specialists.) Ezra is tolerating feeds well. The temporary tube will remain for 8-12 weeks, and then the permanent tube will be placed. I guess that time is allowing for the hole to heal and remain open (kind of like when you get a piercing and you aren’t allowed to take it out for a period of time). Hopefully, the little guy will sleep better now that he is home. He was not sleeping well at the hospital. He is so happy to be home...he's on the bed, playing under his little jungle gym...clicking away happily.
We are going to lay low this week. Peter’s mother will be here with us, and that will be so fun for the older kids. They are in need of some individual attention. And after that, Jeremiah goes back to school! He is so anxious to start the first grade, and I am glad because I will have a little more time to spend with the other two if I am not busy refereeing for J and Alayna.
Thank you all for your prayers and support during this last week! We really appreciate it and feel extremely blessed to have such a wonderful family and circle of friends. A special shout out to my mother, for taking time off to be here for us and to Andrea and Sarah for watching the other two kiddos so we could be at the hospital as much as possible. May God bless you all in His grace and love!
