We were low key thrilled when Jeremiah let us know in early summer 2022 that he wanted to move home and regroup. He loved living in Texas, but wanted to be able to focus more on getting a degree and a career, so, he made a wise choice to move home and reset. Peter and I decided to make the drive together and visit some new places along the way. Because one of my bucket list items is to visit every state capitol building, we thought stops in Phoenix, Santa Fe and Oklahoma City were in order. Of course, we lived in the Phoenix area for over 5 years, but can you believe we never went to the capitol building? I know. But, this was a great opportunity to do that. It was a blast! And, really set off the exploring/traveling bug in both Peter and myself. Who knows, this blog might turn into an account of the traveling we do. Stay tuned.
Some highlights from our trip with Santa Fe's Loretto chapel, yummy New Mexican food, Oklahoma City memorial site and our favorite San Antonio beers. We will miss having a reason to visit Texas, but I know I want to go back and explore more of Austin at some point.
There are some pretty parts of AZ! Payson.
First meal: Enchiladas for Peter and Pozole for me. Green and red sauce for NM flair.
Oldest church in the U.S!
The capitol building was closed, but I'm still counting it!
Waco
My fave beer!
