Yay for Portland Getaways!

We just can't stay away! Peter and I were able to steal away for the weekend to go to a wedding. It couldn't have come at a more hectic time (Peter is in the midst of another training for work, and I had two midterms and a math quiz in the week after), but we're so glad we did! The kids stayed back with my parents and we got to spend 36 glorious hours together. I actually went up to Portland last Thursday, since I didn't have clinicals last week, and then left on Sunday afternoon (I had two midterms on Monday morning). Peter was still in training through Friday, so he flew up early Saturday morning and stayed until Tuesday afternoon. It was such a blessing to share in the celebration of these two awesome people whose story we knew from the very beginning (they met in our Home Community 2 years ago). And, it's always such a blessing to be with this community of people. They are an extension of our family. We're so blessed!

And, we tried to see as many friends as possible, but, as usual, there just wasn't enough time. I managed to see a few nursing friends and my sister, and Peter managed to hang out with some other folks too. All in all, it was a fantastic weekend, a nice break from the current chaos.

Congratulations to Laurel and Evan! Thank you for letting us be a part of your special day!
