For our 13th wedding anniversary we got two kid-free days to do as we please. Since money is a little tight, we decided to spend as little as possible. And, besides gasoline and two reasonably-priced meals out, we didn't spend a dime on entertainment. We let nature entertain us. We spend Sunday in Santa Cruz, walking 5 miles along West Cliff Drive. It took most of the afternoon, at a leisurely pace. We went downtown for dinner, ice cream and window shopping. We stayed the night at Peter's brother's house before heading to San Francisco on Monday.
Again, we spent no money, except for gas. We drove up highway one, taking in the sights. We got to drive through the new tunnel near Devil's Slide. It's so cool. Once in the city, we went to the Presidio for some bridge shots and another walk. Then, we went to Golden Gate park for a picnic lunch and more walking and sight seeing. We ended our time in the city at Land's End, with a short hike and some more amazing views. It was a glorious day.
We're home again and a little more learned in this thing called marriage. Here's to year 14!
(I took over 100 photos during our trip. It was difficult to narrow it down for ones to post here. Enjoy!)
