So, Halloween started a few days early this year with a costume ball at the kids' school. It was a blast. The kids were extra excited because they got to help set up for it, so they got to see a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff. It was a fun night. Halloween continued through the weekend with a (wet!) scavenger hunt at the zoo, with a bag full of mostly "healthy" goodies. Peter took the kids to that while I studied hard for my midterm.
Then, there was actual Halloween night. Last year, we got lucky and it wasn't raining (though it was SO cold). This year, it was "warm" (about 60º), but WET. However, it did stop raining long enough to go through the neighborhood for about an hour. Again, I stayed behind to work on school stuff while Peter took the kids trick or treating. This is probably the last year we will trick-or-treat. The whole process is tedious and we don't let them eat much of the candy anyway, so it seems moot to continue the tradition. We'll see.
We wrapped things up with a dental check-up this morning (I was at clinicals, so Peter got to take them). No cavaties! Hooray!
Unrelated to Halloween, school is in full gear. We've already taken the midterm, which I didn't do too well on (I passed, but not by "Sara standards"-- I got a low B). I started clinicals 3 weeks ago and am bustling away at papers, projects, and skills lab. We are learning deltoid injections next week! Good times! Anyway, here is a photo of me in my clinical garb. Even though I still feel awkward and unqualified, I am really enjoying my clinical experience.
