Today, we embarked on an entirely new chapter of independence. Jeremiah left to go to Antioch to spend a week with Peter's parents. This is not unusual, as they've been doing it every summer since birth (basically)--each child gets a week alone with Grandma and Grandpa F. What was unusual was that this year is the first time Jeremiah flew unaccompanied by an adult. It was scary, but we felt he could do it. The airports make it a fairly easy process. The adult gets a special "boarding" pass to escort the child to the gate. Then, we wait with the child until the child is safely on the plane and the plane is in the air before we leave. Upon arrival, the adult picking the child up gets a special pass to get through security and meet the child right at the gate. Everything went off without a hitch and Jeremiah is now safely in Antioch with his grandparents!
In the security line. Not sure what happened to his right arm....
Made it through security!
On the walking ramp.
Waiting for his plane to arrive.
In the pre-board line!
One last photo before putting him on the plane.
