Summer: Week 5

July 9 - 15

Well, this was a very fun and full week.  So much went on, I feel like each day needs its own post, but I will try to be succinct here in one wrap-up.

On Monday, we spent most of the day with some friends, first at Jamison Square and then Irving Park.  Seeing her playing so well with these two little boys (4, 2) reminded me what a wonderful big sister she would have made..... (::SIGH::)

On Tuesday, we had a playdate with another friend, did some stuff around the house, and went to a concert in the park up at Mt. Tabor.

On Wed, we made the looooooong trek to Antioch to start our CA vacation.  Alayna has always been a good traveler and that day was no different.  We visited with neighbor Tommie, had dinner with Peter's parents, and hung out with some great friends.

On Thursday, we headed to Santa Cruz!  We spread some of Ezra's ashes up at UCSC (where Peter and I met) and also at Natural Bridges.  We spent some time on the beach and ate lunch at one of our favorite places.  Then, we headed down to SLO.  That night we had dinner and game time with a great family of friends.  Things were crazy with 6 kids and 4 adults!

On Friday, we had a full day with Mike--we hit up a great hike in Avila Beach, had a picnic lunch at the beach and some play time there, and then had a BBQ at Mike and Zabrina's house.  Lots of fun!

On Saturday, we spent the morning lulling around the Cox home and then headed to LA.  We arrived in the Valley by 3pm and just hung out before going out to dinner to celebrate my parent's 40th (!) Anniversary.

On Sunday, (while Peter was driving back to Portland) we spent the day in Antelope Valley to see my other Grandma B. and then hang out with my sister's family.  The cousins always have so much fun when they're together.

This past week has been such a blessing!  Looking forward to more this week.
